Write With Community, Inc. is a South Coast Massachusetts literary nonprofit (501(c)(3), EIN 41-3217878) dedicated to building a connected and diverse writing community across MA and RI. Our service region runs from Westport to Freetown to Taunton to Mattapoisett, east into Providence, RI. We program workshops, publish regional anthologies, host literary events, and link the South Coast's independent writing groups through a shared calendar, blog, and newsletter.

We are people who love writing. We are dedicated to building a more connected community of writers and believe strongly in the power of storytelling and the beauty of the written word.
Our Mission
To bring together a diverse and wide-ranging group of writers from across the SouthCoast, MA and RI geographic area while simultaneously building a more established literary presence in the area through workshops, publishing opportunities, and community creative programming.
Our Reach
Weโre proud to say we reach all the way from Westport to Freetown to Taunton to Mattapoisett to Providence, RI! We range in age, gender, and all the other good stuff. From poetry to flash fiction to memoir, we work at different skill levels and love being able to say โwe are writers!โ Anyone is welcome to join us.

FAQs
What kinds of writers does Write With Community serve? All levels and all genres โ poetry, flash fiction, memoir, essay, fiction. We work with first-time writers and published authors across the South Coast.
Do I have to live on the South Coast to participate? No. Most workshops and events are open to anyone, though programs are designed around South Coast venues, themes, and partnerships. Virtual events such as Writing at Night are open to anyone, anywhere.
Is Write With Community the same as the Westport Writers Group? No. Write With Community is a regional umbrella nonprofit that partners with the Westport Writers Group and other South Coast writing groups. Each affiliated group runs its own meetings; Write With Community provides regional infrastructure, calendar, anthology publishing, and outreach.
Who funds Write With Community? Write With Community is funded in part by grants from the Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Rochester, and Westport Cultural Councils โ local agencies supported by the Mass Cultural Council, the state arts agency of Massachusetts.
