Salena J. Deane, Poet

Salena J. Deane is a Brockton-born poet, pole dancer, & philanthropist living in Providence, RI. She currently serves as the Development Associate for New Urban Arts (NUA), where she helps raise money to provide free after-school arts programming to high school students. She is also the founder of The Poetry Pour, a local media company that connects local poets to the public, making the power of poetry approachable & accessible to all. Salena uses the page and the stage to reveal the complexities of the taboo, challenge cultural norms, & establish autonomy while delving into deeply personal topics with nuance, humor, and honesty.
